Sleeping in a lighthouse is something very special, and in Scotland there are various different options. I stayed at Buchan Ness lighthouse, near Peterhead, for just one night, but the experience was fantastic. The lighthouse is still in operation. Both houses have 2 bedrooms (one twin, one double), lounge, kitchen and bathroom. They are tastefully decorated and the kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, toaster, and all kitchen utensils and cleaning products. The living room, apart from being very spacious, has a real fireplace, TV, DVD, and a large library with books and movies (of course, in English). As for the price, you can rent it daily for 126 pounds or take a weekly rental, which is very well priced. The only thing I missed was the internet, and it has very little mobile coverage. A place to enjoy the tranquility of Buchan Ness in a unique setting, ideal for traveling with children or as a couple.
