Aerospace Museum of Alcantara

Just 10 km away from Alcantara you can find the satellite launching base, with its own technology. It is located in Brazil and is the largest of its kind in Latin America. Ecuador is the ideal spot to launch satellites and it is much cheaper to launch satellites from here because of its higher speed of earth rotation. Alcantara Aerospace Museum is open to visitors and explains the history of space launches in Brazil with 1:1 scale model of a satellite, panels and explanatory videos. It is a bit creepy especially the topic that it is about, but it's nice to be in it, which helps to realize the contrast
