Arab-Moroccan cuisine

Great

It is a restaurant specializing in Arabic dishes. It is located just behind the Liria Palace (the residence of the Duchess of Alba) very close to Conde Duque.

I would define it as a charming restaurant where you will be able to enjoy some delicious typical dishes of Arab-Moroccan cuisine. In our case we decided to take the sampling menu, since it was our first time. It has some starters (seven), a main course to choose, Arabic pastry, green tea and a drink. All this for 30€.

I definitely recommend the chicken couscous, amazing. They serve it in a clay plate with potatoes, deep fried onion and vegetables. Delicious is the least I can say. We also tried Monazzaly (meat with eggplant and tomatoes au gratin with rice and cooked in the oven), very tasty too but not at the level of the couscous.

A charming place

I think that Aladino is the restaurant with the best Arabic dishes outside of Syria and Lebanon. The food served in this charming restaurant is a well-thought mix between Syrian and Moroccan food. What is the difference? The Moroccan food is mostly based on chicken and couscous. In this sense, Aladino is the best I have tried in Madrid.

Syrian food, for its geography, has more Mediterranean products: tomatoes, eggplants, fish, yogurt, spinach, peppers, chickpeas, cucumbers... The "mezes" (some sort of various Arabic tapas I recommend trying in this restaurant) are created out of this delicious combination. There are also delicious dishes like vegetable puff pastry with dried fruits, the very tasty hummus or the tabula, salad made of parsley, vegetables and aromatic herbs. This is why I recommend choosing this Arab tendency since they are more elaborated and tasty in my opinion.
