Anchorage Memorial Park

Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery is the main cemetery of Anchorage and is located in the city center. It was opened in 1915 by President Woodrow Wilson. The cemetery has a special kind of charm because there is a mixture of traditional and indigenous tombs, decorated with Russian Orthodox crosses and flowers typical to Alaska such as Fireweed and Sitka Rose. It is better to visit in the summer, because in winter, the snow covers everything like a blanket.
