1 review of Apsley House

No. 1, London

Apsley House is in a corner of Hyde Park and was the home of the Dukes of Wellington, you can visit their old apartments, the vast Waterloo Gallery and the family art collection. The exhibition tells you about the life of the first Duke, his work and there are objects/furniture that belonged to him. The artwork comes from the Spanish royal collection, recovered after the Battle of Victoria in 1813. Admission is £ 5.70 for adults, £ 2.90 for children, there's a ticket including Wellington Arch which is £ 7, £ 3.5 for children and it's open until 5 pm in summer (4 pm in winter). The residence was built over 200 years ago and, as it was the first house that you found on entering London (from Westminster), the address was simply "No.
