Aurlandsvegen

This mountain route, known as the snow path (there was still snow in late August), links the towns of Lærdal and Aurland. It's only open during the summer months from June to September. If you go at another time of year, you have to settle for going through one of the longest tunnels in Europe. Its highest point is 1306 meters above sea level. In Stegastein, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Aurlands fjords. The route is included in Norway's list of national tourist hikes.
