Bowness-on-Windermere

We promised the kids to take them on a boat ride on the lake, and decided to head to Windermere. We stopped along the way in Bowness-on-Windermere, made famous by the film Miss Potter, telling the story of the children's author Beatrix Potter, who lived in this town; there's still an exhibition of her work here today. Once we reached the town we found it much more charming than the lake itself, all very English and idyllic.
