Cantavieja

We are talking about a beautiful town, perched on a rocky outcrop, from where it overlooks the valley.

Cantavieja is the "capital" of one of the most beautiful counties in Spain, the Maestrazgo. It was declared to be of Historic and Artistic interest in 1981, and when we pass along its streets it’s as if we have been transported the medieval times.

The arcaded town hall square is spectacular, containing the museum of the Carlist wars opened, since the village was the general headquarters. You should also visit the church of the Asunción , and the old San Roque Hospital.
