Modernist Building
Ayamonte has hatched the idea of having a movie theater since 1942, but the building we see today has nothing to do with what was initially in existence. This is a building that was constructed in the 1950's with a modernist façade on two different streets, which is just a short walk from the Paseo de la Ribera and the Market. Although it was privately owned, the theatre became municipal in 2000, and was renovated and reopened in February of 2001. Concerts, cultural events, the Easter proclamation, and the International Music Festival of Ayamonte all take place in this theatre.
