1 review of Louis Armstrong House Museum

The birthplace of a legend

Many of those who visit the Louis Armstrong Park are unaware of its significance. Within it, hidden behind a fence, with almost nothing to point out its significance, is the house where the great Louis Armstrong was born. Almost all the relics left by "Satchmo" have been destroyed by governments or natural disasters, and his birthplace is one of the few that has survived. This house used to be a brothel, and was closed by the government. It was about to be demolished, but it was luckily saved. Unfortunately, it's not in good condition, and can only be seen from the outside.
