Chão Queimado Viewpoint

The upper area of ​​the promenade (Avenue of the Discoveries) is known as Chao Queimado. Here there's a great view of the bay and the beaches of Lagos (awarded Blue Flag). Most of these beaches have pedestrian access only as the coast is very steep, and are joined by a path, to go down to the beaches there are usually an endless number of stairs. On this esplanade viewpoint is the Monument to San Gonzalo of Lagos (patron of the city).
