Chelsea Art Galleries

Chelsea is perhaps the world capital of art galleries. There are more than 500 concentrated in this small neighborhood, many of which moved here from SoHo, which was the center of the New York art scene until rents got too high. The Chelsea galleries have helped to transform this area of the city from a district of abandoned warehouses to an space of great beauty. The High Line, the elevated park, has become a symbol of urban renewal in New York. As for the galleries, you can find both famous names like the Gasogian and tiny niche spots, with some spaces just 40 square meters and hidden on the 10th floor of a building.
