Worth a visit

After passing through one of the four gates guarding the Amber Fort (the gate called Suraj Pol), we reached a large patio, known as Jaleb Chowk. This courtyard was used to train troops and present arms, and today is full of tourists and locals selling merchandise, necklaces, musical instruments, postcards, and more. On one side of the courtyard is the booth where you can buy tickets - 50 rupees, with a surcharge of 25 if you bring a camera, or 100 for a video camera. In Jaleb Chowk there's no place to shelter from either the heat of the sun or the ceaselessness of the pushy hawkers, but it's worth dealing with both to walk past all the wonderful buildings.
