The church of betlem

Located at the corner of Rambla Liceu and carrer de Carmen, this beautiful church wedged between two buildings of the Gothic Quarter gets noticed with its original storefront. From the early sixteenth century, it belonged to the Jesuits before being considered as a Property of Cultural Interest in 1997, but the route at any time to admire his beautiful representation of NS Forsaken.

The Eglésia of Betlem is a church located on the Ramblas. It is a relic of the Catholic Church built in the seventeenth century, looks stark contrast with the extravagance of the Ramblas. The Church of Betlem is an old memory of the time when La Rambla presented itself more religious than Catholic.

The church of Our Lady of Betlen is built in the carrer del Carmen, on the corner with the Ramblas. It was installed here by a group of Jesuit, who erected in a baroque style. On the main altar, you can see scenes of Christmas, which were painted in the eighteenth century. Now it is no longer the original models, which were destroyed during the civil war in 1936, but reproductions. What I like most about this church is its wealth of facades, statues of saints, and the fact that it goes virtually unnoticed by most people. Too preoccupied with the constant bustle of the Ramblas, all who pass by here forget to look up to look at the historical monuments, and no one realizes the beauty of this place. The church was destroyed by fire in 1671, but it was rebuilt shortly thereafter by the architect Josep Juli. The amazing thing is that the most beautiful part of the church is its lateral side, and not the central front, overlooking the Rambla. After 1936, the church was damaged in the renovated old style. It now displays works of art in the nave of Catalan artists and primarily religious art.

The church which borders between Las Ramblas and Carrer Carme, a major route into the city in medieval times. Church concerva Gothic architecture and is a good place to escape the heat and rest your legs while the ride lasts. It is also for me the best street as a gateway for those who want to stroll around Raval with choice of bars, restaurants, clothing stores own manufacturing and many other cultural options. Bon Passeig Felipe

Bon passeig,
Felipe
