Red lava
After visiting Gullfoss, you head towards the south to Selfoss. In the Grimsnes area, 4 kilometres from highway 35 and 36 crossroad, just off to the side is the Kerid crater. Over time, this crater has been filled with rain water. It's 200 meters in diameter and 50 meters deep with red lava and ash walls. You can reach the lake and walk around it.
