Any unobstructed field in India is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle. On weekends, some of the parks are filled with teams of people of all ages playing cricket. They arrive early cause they can spend hours playing. It is a good opportunity to learn the secrets of this sport and hopefully play with them a bit.
Apart from the general 'gully' cricket that is played across India, Bangalore scores higher on formal training for cricket as well! There are a lot of cricket academies (NRA grounds, KIOC, to name a few) that conduct training and summer camps and have nets available for general practice.
People here are ardent cricket supporters, and thus, enjoy both, playing and watching good quality cricket :)
