Watch Princess Kay of the Milky Way have her image carved into butter

The Midwest Dairy Association crowns a new Princess Kay of the Milky way every year in time for the Minnesota State Fair. Part of the fun then is in attending the butter sculpting in the Dairy building. Each butter "head" is carved out of a 90 pound block of Grade A butter, which comes from AMPI in New Ulm, Minnesota.

During the state fair you can watch one of the princesses get carved into a butter sculpture- one of the strangest and coolest things to see at the fair. At the end of the fair the princess whose likeness was carved gets to take home her butter head. I have heard from past princesses that it takes several years to eat all that butter!
