Awesome wine bar in Malasaña
For a country like Spain with such a long and passionate history of wine and winemaking, it’s surprisingly tricky to find a good wine bar in Madrid. Don’t get me wrong…in Spain, even the old man bars on the corner serve decent wines, but to find a bar that is completely and totally devoted to all things wine is somewhat unusual. Luckily, we have De Vinos, a vinoteca in the heart of Madrid’s Malasaña neighborhood that combines a rotating and expertly-chosen wine list with a vibe that’s anything but stuffy.
If you’re looking for wine by the glass, De Vinos offers a monthly selection of six red wines, three whites, and a cava or two with a special emphasis on small-batch productions, boutique wines, and wines from some of the country’s lesser-known wine regions. If you’re looking to get a bottle, they have a long list of equally well-selected wines available to take home or to uncork right there in the bar. If you’re looking to switch things up a bit, De Vinos also serves up excellent Spanish vermouth and usually has a few Spanish craft beer labels in stock.
