Doctors House Museum

Free informational tour of a Victorian house

The Doctor’s House is a two-story historical site in Glendale located in Brand Park right next to the Brand Library. The restored Victorian building was formerly located a few miles south on Wilson Avenue. The site is only open on Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m., at which time visitors can go on free tours (although a $2 donation is suggested) of the house. The interior of the building is charming and much furniture is from the time period when the house was inhabited. The docents are knowledgeable, friendly, and very open to answering any questions. It’s interesting to see how the house was divided up and learn how patients were seen and cared for, how people lived at the time, and even simply observing the ornate interior is fascinating.
