A unique natural tour

The Everglades is one of the largest wetland areas in the world, and in this particular Natural Park you can see alligators, crocodiles (saltwater), flamingos, and a large number of insects and birds in their natural habitat. The fact that you can only go by airboat or on one of the few roads makes it a must-see wild place in South Florida. Watch out for the summer months season because of the large number of hungry mosquitoes that will suck you dry. It is best to visit between January and May, because the temperature is mild and there are no mosquitoes, which really are a nuisance. Due to the massive dimensions of the park and the restrictions to visiting it, it is best to hire a tour of the park, or plan out your visit really well by renting an airboat and visiting some of the observation sites that are available.

This is alligator territory

Practically all of South Florida is a giant wetlands. A lot of it isn't much more than alligators and Indian Reservations, but you also have the Everglades, one of the most beautiful, unusual, and interesting parks in the USA.

At first glace, it's just a massive flooded plain with a few scattered islands of grass and weds. As you dig deeper, though, you'll discover a wealth of plant, animal, and amphibian life that's unsurpassed in the American south. This is alligator territory and your chances of seeing one is almost 100%.

The only realistic way to explore the Everglades is via airboat. It's really recommend it to anyone.

Everglade excursions

A trip to the Everglades lasts a couple of hours. You can do it in a small train or rent a bike. That's how we did it and it was great. You can go at your own pace and stop whenever you want to take pictures of the crocodiles and other wildlife. It's better to go there and back the same way. The right side is more beautiful, if you do the full turn, it's uglier. You have to bring water and some snacks. It's definitely worth it!

For those who come to spend a few day...

For those who come to spend a few days in Miami, the beaches or shopping or nightlife, favorite pastimes by the Italians, should go on a trip to the Everglades, the marshes, which, until a few decades ago, reached the city 'and which enabled the tribes' Redskins of Florida not to be defeated, if totally unique from the white troops. Today, the Everglades have become a natural park, and are a popular tourist destination strardinaria, with its marshes, mangroves, and especially its alligators. There and 'easy, just take the Calle Ocho, Little Havana that of, for instance, and follow it west to reach any one of the various places, still managed by the Miccosukee Indians, giving you a boat ride, those that you see in the movies, with a large propeller at the stern, which seems more 'to a plane not a boat. A word of advice, if you come around here in the winter, even if the temprature may seem mild, cover up, 'cause the wind and' very cold! Once on board, except to resist the temptation to put a hand in the water, you never know, with so many alligators could definitely be a bad idea, just look around. Apparently, nothing happens until the water will be able to see something that moves. This is the first crocodile, more 'or less, but still impressive, with its huge mouth and those teeth that can not fail to be some thrills. In short, a thrilling experience, which you can complete with a picture holding a small alligator by to show your friends back to Italy and display proudly on facebook.

It was an amazing experience that I lived in Miami. We boarded the boat propellers, so typical, like a hovercraft. After seeing the flora and fauna of the park and admired the beautiful scenery, the tour ended with a visit to a crocodile farm, very interesting.
