Heidelberg

For me Heidelberg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. It can be found on the banks of the Neckar River with its impressive history, and its castle is high atop all of the beautiful scenery it's surrounded by. Visiting the city has an ongoing encounter with history. The castle ruins are truly shocking, the Old Town looks like a scene from a movie and museums collect all that was saved from the time before the French incursions in the seventeenth century, when the city completely destroyed medieval. I recommend to start visiting the main street (Hauptstrasse) and as I say mandatory stops the Market Square, the Castle and the gardens that surround it, the Old Bridge and the Philosopher's Walk.
