Past the bridge, before entering the village of Archidona, lies the pretty hamlet Huertas del Rio off to the right. There are just a few homes and farms, but in the midst of a charming landscape of plain cereal and olive trees, a river and a small chapel. On May 15, festivities in honor of Spring take place during the festival of San Isidro. Its celebration in the municipality of Archidona focuses on the districts of Huertas and Salinas River, where there are two chapels that bear the name of the pattern. These festivities last several days, in which the respective processions and religious ceremonies join the traditional country-places.
