Church of the Holy Trinity

This is an old Lutheran Church, that was constructed in 1743 and destroyed by a bomb on July 24, 1943. It is very well situated as it is very close to the Municipal Palace and just two blocks from the park that surrounds the river Elbe. It was reconstructed in 1950 to give it its original image. It is surrounded by gardens and on one side there are many tombs that have survived the bombings of World War II. From the top you can see the banks of the Elbe and the whole city. Typical German architecture

This church, designed by Leonard Ore, was completed in 1747 and like many other churches in Hamburg, was partially destroyed by bombing in 1943 (during World War II). It was rebuilt 1954-1957 and today we see this monument with typical German architecture.
