In the Lake district in southern Chile, the best choice for sleeping are private homes that rent rooms. They are affordable, 10-15 euros (you can find more expensive ones) and the Chileans in this area are known to be kind and gentle people (and I can vouch for this). In this case, the house was new, all rooms were rented (the owner lived in the house next door), the price was cheap (12 euros), it was well located (near the centre and on the same street that takes you to the lake), it had a garage, the owner was a delight ..... If you pass by this town, do not hesitate to stay here.
