Cordillera Huayhuash trekking peru
The Cordillera Huayhuash begins in the city of Chiquian 3,400 m 111 km south of Huaraz. This range is poorly understood but is one of the best and impressive treks. The full trek takes 12 to 14 days with a spectacular views of the mountains like Yerupaja 6,634 m the second highest in Peru Jirishanca, Rondoy, Ninashanca, Rasac. On the trek there are paths exceeding 4,700 m, the higher pass Cuyoc is at 5,000 m, San Antonio is at 5,020 m and there are stunning crystal clear lagoons. The movie Touching the Void was filmed in this region on the mountain Siula Grande.
