Santa Cruz Church

The Church of the Holy Cross (In Polish - Bazylika Mniejsza pw. Świętego Krzyża) is one of the most important churches in Warsaw, located on one of its most important and central streets, leading to the Royal Castle and the Siren. In 1626, the first church was built, which was later destroyed and the present dates from 1679 (well, the style of the building does as it was seriously damaged by the Nazi attacks in World War II, as were 99% of the city's buildings). The hallmark of this church is the figure of Jesus Christ carrying a cross with the inscription "Sursum Corda" on the pedestal.
