Balcarce grill

Inle Lake's fishermen have developed the ability to paddle using one leg, while handling fishing nets with their hands hand. All this is done on the rear end of unstable wooden canoes. The highest concentration of fishermen on Lake Inle usually occurs near the entrance to the main channel of Nyaunshwe: Nan Chaung). There also tends to be quite a few fishermen on the west coast of Lake Inle. Inle Lake fishermen use several fishing techniques. One of them uses nets in a conical shape, in another traditional nets. Hitting the water with their oars trying to direct the fish into nets.

Reflection

As the sun rises we wake, the smell of smoke fills the air, the faint sounds of boat motors in the distance. As we set off on a tour of the lake. The beauty of the water, its so still. It's as if we are slicing through glass. As we putt along our boat motor drowns out all other noise and as we come to a stop to watch a local fisherman catch fish for the day our driver shuts the motor off. Peace, quiet. Silence.

Inle lake

Traveling in Myanmar, we agreed on the visit to Inle Lake with a traditional festival in which the people set sail with their traditional boats. I was surprised by the colors and the smiles of the people and landscape of the place, a place not to be missed by anyone traveling to a country as beautiful as Myanmar.

Inle Lake is a lake located very characteristic in the state of Myanmar. It is located at a height of 900m, 22 km long and 10 wide, with a maximum depth of 3 m. The lake is inhabited by "Intha" which means children of the lake. Around is surrounded by mountains inhabited by tribes Pa-0. The villages of these tribes are made up of piles located on the banks and some other islands in the middle of the lake. Their means of transport are small boats they use to travel. These people are known to have a special and unique navigation technology. To move the boat on water are force with a particular movement of the leg and hip on the oar while standing at the stern of the boat. The Intha are very good fishermen use to catch the big pots that are lying on the bottom and inside of which push the fish beating the waters. A special feature of the lake are the gardens and floating gardens, created in places where the water is shallow. He gasps to see these small and thin people act with extreme lightness of these floating islands suspended in water, without falling and losing his balance. The various types of flowers and vegetables grown are sold in the markets of the regions. In the evening, the lake becomes very attractive, lit by small torches of light. In the state of Myanmar in the evening is removed to minimize power consumption and by the provisions of state. So not everyone has the opportunity to have an electric generator in their homes. The locals are friendly and polite, always greets you with a smile and a curious look. On the banks of the lake you can spend a pleasant stay.

Exotic and picturesque

Inle Lake is a mecca of tourism in Burma. Villages that populate its surroundings are very picturesque. Craft activities remain there thanks to the influx of visitors: cigar, weaving silk and fiber lotus. Aboriginal Intha grow their particularities. Fishermen on the lake, they use a leg to row; farmers, they created floating gardens grow vegetables and flowers. Whole lake life animate the banks with houses on stilts that create an exotic decor breathtaking. Returning to school by canoe, cultivating his garden from his boat floating: a single lifetime oh! exotic.

Inle lake is a gorgeous lake in myanm...

Inle Lake is a gorgeous lake in Myanmar, of a blue color very particular that you will surely love. Besides hiking around, you can walk around the lake, watching Intha fisherman rowing in a circular foot, visiting monasteries and local crafts. The traditional weaving of silk is a very interesting, a tradition that is passed from mother to daughter, each village with its characteristics and different reasons. It's amazing how fast your routine, like run the machines at full speed and still get something fine and beautiful. Men who do not fish engaged forge iron, and if you come home directly after your trip, you can buy beautiful objects, lamps or wrought iron mirrors for your home. Another thing that is done by hand, cigars, which have good reputation but did not try, the women prepare sheets of dry snuff. You'll also find jewelry, and souvenirs from the lake region. The prices are very cheap and almost not traded.

It is one of the wonders of myanmar

Stretching 22km long and 11km wide, is situated 875m above sea level, there are around 17 villages built on stilts in the lake inhabited by the Intha. This is a restricted area so you need to pay to enter the village 5USD. The population eminently farmers have their rice growing areas and wetlands bordering the lake. I also find several Buddhist kyaung and stupas. To explore the lake area there are several options, the most common and easiest way is by renting a boat for a tour of the lake. This option is good if the lake has enough water to penetrate and reach the villages on stilts. You will not have any problem to rent the boat, as there are hundreds, once the people walking through the many riverside boat owners and sellers closer to Present yourselves you traveled. Another option was the one I chose, is the bike for the freedom to move anywhere you like, it is very cheap and you can rent them crossing rice fields and roads, but requires some fitness. You have to stop you at any of the people that are in the lake. Following the main road leads to a town, and an exit to the right of the road leads to a long pier. At the end of it you have to take a boat to get to the houses. The paddle system is really curious inhabitants as they do standing up in the boat, moving the oar with one leg and holding it with your other hand.

If you have the chance to go to myanm...

If you have the chance to go to Myanmar (formerly Burma) do not miss this place! The 17 towns and villages on stilts rather found on the shores of the lake (22 km long and 11 wide) or on islands are inhabited by the Intha are around 70,000. The Inthas have the particularity to move on the lake by manipulating a sort of sculling with one foot while standing on the other! (Take a look at one of the photos and you will more easily an idea of the thing). Unfortunately for tradition, motor boats gradually replaced this technique probably unique. Conical nets to fish is another feature of this lake.

Inle lake

Located in the center of the country, Inle Lake is one of the largest in Burma. This is also one of the most tourist regions of the country. And for good reason ! What fun than starting the discovery of this still rural region, where mass tourism has not yet destroyed the superb natural heritage The lake is beautiful, with its traditional fishermen (who skillfully rowed in rear with their leg, pushing their canoes) , its families going on floating markets sapprovisionnant, alternating its markets by day and the lunar calendar, its unlikely houses perch on stilts A trip out of time, be missed under any pretext!

Lac inle

If i have to stay with a special corn...

If I have to stay with a special corner I decide Inle Lake in Myanmar. In its 11 km long emerge different peoples who have been stuck in another era. All are artisans who specialize in a particular activity (textiles, shipbuilding, blacksmiths ...) trading between them. The houses are teak stilt houses and their inhabitants have developed a technique that allows the foot paddle while fishing.
