A wonder of nature

If at any point you thought that icebergs were random hunks of ice floating in the south Atlantic, well, you're mistaken. Lake Jökulsárlón in the south of Iceland is covered in thousands of the things, big and small. The forms they take are whimsical and really make your imagination spin, kind of like thinking about the clouds when you were young. There are all kinds of activities at the lake, but the best and most simple is to enjoy the view of the horizon in silence. It's a beautiful and almost spiritual thing. Ice under the Aurora

Excellent

Here's an incredible experience I had at Jökulsárlón Lake: being on a black-sand Icelandic beach at -15ºC and seeing millennia-old chunks of glacial ice illuminated by the beautiful Aurora Borealis in the sky. It's something I'll never forget.

Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon

Jokulsarlon is a beautiful glacial lagoon which transports huge blocks of ice, which crack off the glacier, out to the sea floating on crystal clear water.
