Kayak the Bay

Kayaking around Put-in-Bay and South Bass Island is a great way to see this destination, plus you can visit places that you otherwise cannot reach! It's also a great way to get some exercise. Kayak The Bay is a tour company that offers kayak rentals - either kayaks holding one person, or tandem kayaks. You do not need to make any reservations in advance, you can just walk right up and rent a kayak for 2 hours. The person who worked there told us about all of the interesting places that we could visit. We chose to kayak across the bay to Gibraltar Island, an island owned by Ohio State University for research.
