Kennecott's Bingham Canyon Mine

South of Salt Lake City is the largest open copper mine in the world open. It's run by the Rio Tinto mining conglomerate and a visitor's center is open from April to October. This provides a lot of technical and industrial explanations in English, and gives you the chance to have a look at the vast crater of the mine. The huge construction trucks on monstrous wheels look like ants far below.
