The best place to buy turrón

In a place as obsessed with turrón (nougat) as Alicante, it’s difficult to find a turrón vendor that really stands out. This kiosk still maintains the original family-recipe and process of making turrón from 100 years ago.

Today, there isn’t anyone in Alicante that hasn’t tried their turrón. The kiosk is also right next to the central market, a fact which only adds to its popularity. They also sell dessert wines that they make themselves using the finest natural ingredients.

Turrón is the most popular product among tourists on a visit to Alicante. It’s understandable because the almonds they use are really first-rate.

Turrón from Jijona

Excellent

This is a must for people who love sweets and even if you don’t have a big sweet-tooth, you should at least try it. Four generations of artisans from Jijona have made this product using the best marcona almonds and rosemary honey. The turrón is so good that it even has an official Designation of Origen. They have two stores in Alicante, both on Alfonso el Sabio Ave.

100% handmade

Being from Alicante and a fan of artisanal food in general, I went one day to buy turrón from this kiosk located in the central market. When I arrived, I found out that not only was the turrón 100% artisanal, but that the flavor and quality was miles away from the commercial stuff they sell in supermarkets. Yeah it’s cheaper, but it’s not nearly as good.

I tried a few different varieties and I’ve been a loyal customer since then. It’s unbeatable. You can’t beat a product made by a person ve lives and breathes turrón. I’d give the service and product both a 10.

Excellent
