Chefchaouen Communal Laundry

It is a rewarding experience to see how Berber women come down from the mountains to wash their clothes as did our grandmothers or great-grandmothers, it is curious to see how they wash carpets and wring them, they do it with 4 persons then put everything on stones to dry in the sun. Chaoue is a beautiful village at the gateway to the northern mountains of the Rif Valley, with its narrow streets and floors and half of the facade of the houses painted in indigo blue, it is a thing of beauty to see and very cheap.
