Lauterbrunnen

The Swiss Alps, as the name suggests, are the part of the Alps which are in Switzerland! They are also called the central Alps. The highest point is Pointe Dufour. The Alps culminate at 4634 meters above sea level in the southern part of the country near the Italian border. You can go skiing, snowboarding or mountaineering in the area. The surfaces of the glaciers are declining but there are still enough. Aletsch Glacier, near Bern, is the largest in the Alps, at 23 km long and over 900 meters deep. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2001. The area is perfect in winter for skiing or snowboarding or in summer for hiking, mountain biking and other activities.
