Letters on the Ground, Huertas Street

3 reviews of Letters on the Ground, Huertas Street

The Heart of Las Letras Neighborhood

Excellent

It doesn’t matter if you start from Paseo del Prado or from Plaza del Ángel, the important thing is to enjoy the most emblematic street of Las Letras neighborhood. It is a place that changes according to the time of day. It can be a calm street where you can enjoy its old and new bookshops, its beautiful palaces such as the Santoña one or the Academia de la Historia one, and it can also be a lively area with bars and discos at night.

In between, you can enjoy one of its famous restaurants or taverns to taste Madrid’s tapas. I love Huertas Street, this mix of urban street with trees, ancient convents, old legends, Spanish Golden Age and, above all, the gold letters in the ground that make you feel as if you were walking through an open book, and you can decide in which chapter you want to stop. It’s a must see if you visit Madrid and one of my favorite places to stroll, eat tapas, have a drink and enjoy specialized bookshops, as well as to wander through the beautiful and traditional Las Letras neighborhood.
