Little india

Another one of the most popular ethnic neighborhoods of Singapore is Little India. There is a large population of Indians, so they have formed this neighborhood which, incidentally, looks like one that a person would find in Asia. Accustomed to the peace, civility, order and cleanliness of Singapore, arriving to Little India shows that there are other underworlds. It is a good place where you should meet for dinner.

Pretty average

One of the only places in Singapore where people are afraid to visit. Couldn't find any queue system there. People jump the queue and hop in the taxis...unlike the real Singapore.

Avoid this place unless you are really craving for good Indian food. There are very good restaurants on Race Course Rd if you want some good Indian dishes....

Bollywood small

This picturesque area is a must, as it has little to do with the rest of the city. It's like country have changed since they see few Orientals. Most of its inhabitants are construction workers from India, which in most cases have two-year contracts, after which they must leave the country. This is the most humble area of the city. It makes a lot of life on the streets and in bars is common to see a large crowd of people watching TV. The streets come alive for the evening, especially on Sundays in which its inhabitants, mostly men, put on their best clothes and make a very Bollywood. We can also find hundreds of small shops where thousands of bracelets, necklaces, scarves, shirts, dresses and endless products at good price. There are also several interesting mosques. A curious sight is seeing gold buyers in multiple establishments engaged in the sale. It is a frantic activity worth watching. If you want to watch a video on Littlel India can do it in this video Youtube looking "Littlel India, Singapore-casakikaproducciones"

Singapore is famous for its ability t...

Singapore is famous for its ability to integrate the different cultures and religions, so much so that sometimes you just one block to divide Muslims from Hindus, Chinese Malaysians. A very characteristic district and pleasant place to visit is undoubtedly Little India, home to the Indian community. The area is characterized by a multitude of Hindu temples, including the most fascinating is undoubtedly the Srinivasa Penumal, striking for its rich decorations and the beautiful ceremonies and rituals. The streets are overrun by people who stroll through the many souvenir shops, among the cheapest in the city, as well as restaurants serving the Indian delicacies. If you are going to shop in Singapore, surely this is the most convenient.

Wandering around little india

The most colorful neighborhood of Singapore's Little India. With houses perfectly preserved colonial style, each facade has a different tone pastel alive as follows. Shutters into English style, shops and cafes where all migrants Indians do their shopping and feel like home and sinfn Indian accents and accented by each street smells. Singapore has different environments according the area to visit Little India and Hinduism and Indian style emanates from all sides. You've been or not in the asitico subcontinent, this neighborhood will clearly remember the Indian experience at its best.

Perderse por little india

Little india

This area inhabited predominantly by Tamils, is located east of the Singapore River and is known as the Little India. The original development plans Singapore placed the Tamil enclave elsewhere (British advocated the ethical segregation) but this community has finally developed here, and the district now offers a maze of narrow streets with colorful houses , lined with arcades where many restaurants and shops located on Indian cuisine!

Little india

After four months in India, we wanted to verify what could give an Indian neighborhood also and more importantly in a city at odds in philosophy thermal baths and lifestyle as Singapore. Verdict? We have never seen an India as clean and quiet as this one, in other words, one does not really believe in India, unless we look at the menus Short food or that you smell incense in streets with colorful facades semblance of Tamil Nadu outputs.

Little india

A Little India in Singapore is much higher than in Kuala Lumpur. My hotels in both cities were located in Little India. A Singapore has more charm, better trade and better architecture. In terms of trade highlights the Mustafa Centre, a giant multi-storey shop where you can buy everything from clothes, electronics, food, same everything.

Aromtica

No doubt if something stands out to the mall and the Indian district of Singapore are the aromas of spices, jams and color of its buildings. Ideal for half-day hike.

Place of intense aromas and very colorful which is a few minutes from downtown Singapore is formed by a large number of jobs and small stores selling handicrafts from India. Much of Singapore is made up of a high percentage of Indians and Chinese.
