Living in London

Living in London is a charming British tea house that's at the beginning of Santa Engracia street near the Plaza de Alonso Martínez. It's probably the closest thing to an authentic British tea house that you can find in Madrid. The atmosphere is pretty spot-on, especially in winter when the Christmas decorations are up.

The selection of teas is extensive and those with a sweet-tooth are sure to find something they like too (the scones are to die for). Besides tea, there is also a shop where you can get teas and preserves.

As I was walking down c/ Santa Engracia, I found this wonderful little place. The outside looked neat so we entered and found an unusual tea house.

The first half is a store featuring English products, everything from porcelain dishes, perfume, soap, and napkins, to jams, cookies, teas, and really stupendous cakes.

At the end, there's a little area with tables and chairs where you sample various teas and coffees with homemade cakes, cookies, or a milkshake. There's also a sandwich menu.

It's a great place for breakfast or a mid-afternoon tea. Very recommended.

This cute little tea house is located right next to Alonso Martínez. The decor is very English and welcoming and they have tea of all kinds, not just black tea. It's really a nice place.

They also have a variety of cakes that seemed a bit expensive at 6 euros the portion. There's also a little shop next door.
