An unchanged village
Largo is a coastal town that sits on the bay with the same name. The town has been divided into two parts, Upper Largo and Lower Largo, which is the oldest part of this fishing village. If I mention that Daniel Selkirk was born here in 1676, you may well scratch your head, but he was the inspiration for Defoe's Robinson Crusoe.
Today the village is almost identical to how it was 300 years ago, since being declared a heritage site in 1978. It is expensive to live here, and the local population aren't particularly warm to strangers, but it's a pretty enough town. One Sunday would be enough to see it, as there isn't much here: hardly any restaurants, pubs, places of historical interest or tourist attractions.
