1 review of Madrassa Tilla-Kari

It is the largest and most ornate of the three

Excellent

The Madrassa Tilla-Kari Madrassah is in the famous Registan Square in the center of the other 2 major madrasas of Samarkand such as the Sher-Dor Madrassa and Madrassa Ulugbek. The construction of the Tilla-Kari Madrassa was finished in 1660 by the monarch Yalangtush. It is the largest and most comprehensive of the three madrasahs, and consists of an assembly of winter mosque from the 18th century and another 2 galleries, the museum is also in Samarkand. What caught my attention in this madrasah was its fantastic and impressive dome of blue and gold decoration inside, as translation precisely the Tilla-Kari name means "gold cover".
