7 reviews of Madre de Dios River

Explore this corner of the Amazon

The Madre de Dios is located at the entrance to Manu National Park in the Peruvian Amazon. It is a tributary of the river that gives its name to Manu National Park. The most important village on its shores is called Atalaya and that is where you can hire a boat to go and explore this corner of the Amazon. Along the river are many swamps and small lakes, A very popular site to go and spot different types of birds and fish.
