Incomparable Sight

In the rural park of Teno is found the village of Masca, which one could think it was a central American country with date trees, great lizards on volcanic rocks, bougainvilleas of every imaginable color, an authentic paradise. We are in the northeastern point of the island.

You must be an experienced driver to reach the village, you will find cars coming in the opposite direction and you will need to be creative to let them pass, you will have to park wherever you can and walk along a spectacular path to reach the magnificent beach and to see the Masca ravine. It is an incomparable sight,

A Colorful Part of the Island

Masca is one of the most colorful parts of the island, and the northeastern point covered by the Teno Mountains. Its steep ravines are intertwined with lush green vegetation that accompanies the roads. The road that goes from Buenavista del Norte takes us along narrow and closed curves. Until recently, it was a virtually unknown land, but now it has become an attraction center for those visiting the island.

The landscapes in this town are magical, and the houses hang precariously from the narrow ravines with dramatic rock formations.

Impressive Landscape

There is a place in Masca where the native guanche people used to make offerings to the divine entities they worshiped, making it a sacred place that is immediately perceived this way by the modern man that visits the paths that surround this land.

It is possible to see from there the highest peak in Spain, the Teide, to take a look from great heights and observe a great part of the Atlantic Ocean. The islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma, and to see how the sun hides behind these last two islands, all from a place of freedom where the trade winds make you feel very, very small…

The Excitement is Guaranteed!

To reach the small and colorful town of Masca you have to have a 4 x 4 because you have to pass a sinuous road.

The excitement is guaranteed! In my opinion, Masca is the prettiest town in Tenerife. Once I was there, I dedicated some time to enjoy fresh lemonade, delicious. And for the brave people out there: it is possible to reach the town by sea (“very hard” excursions that take about 4 hours and half).

Nice day trip 2800 m over the sea like in heaven.
