Striking keep
The keep is the most striking of the seven at Guimarães Castle. It's the tallest tower (28 meters high), square and built of masonry with thick walls topped by battlements. It's in the center of the courtyard and to access it you have to cross a wooden footbridge, you can go inside as it's restored and it has wooden stairs to access the different floors. The castle was declared a National Monument of Portugal.
