A vibrant commercial district
Merchant City is the most vibrant commercial district in Glasgow. It extends to the east of the square behind the City Chambers, George Square, and is a network of streets full of eighteenth-century houses and modern shops. Another important building in the area is the green domed Trades House, which is a building dedicated to arts and crafts.
