Monte Gordo Beach

This is the first beach that we found when we crossed the Spanish-Portuguese border. Unlike other beaches of the Algarve, there are no rock formations which are so characteristic of the extreme west. The best thing about this beach is its great breadth and its easy accessibility. The sunsets are very attractive and sellers of "bolinhas" (round and sugary sweet cream fillings) make for a very pleasant afternoon snack.
