Norwegian Fjords Cruise

In south-central Norway there are some ground sea inlets called fjords that are so extensive that sea water loses its characteristic saltiness to become sweet. This is a sample of what one can see from one of the boats that people normally used for transport. Spectacular! Next we see the tip of the only remaining glacier in that area (center half-southeast) as, little by little, we are losing them as a result of climate change. As they melt, they leave waterfalls which gain strength to move forward in their path and leave a bluish-green flash when the sun hits the surface, finally hiding underground in any corner and emerging.

On a trip to the Norwegian fjords I found this Viking boat. It was a tourist attraction, but I felt that it transported me to another era! I was lucky to happen upon it just as the sun came out, which was really a stroke of luck as it rained the entire trip ... maybe a Viking god was looking out for me.
