Oslo City Hall

This majestic building stands in the Fridtjof Nansens square. It consists of a central building for official activities, and two towers containing administrative offices. This is where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held each year on the 10th of December. The walls inside are decorated by the works of Norwegian artists, representing the history of the city and country. Work on the building began in 1931, but it was postponed during World War II, and was finally inaugurated in 1950.
