Pampaneira alpujarra village, located...

Pampaneira Alpujarra village, located in the ravine Poqueira is Bubión and Capileira with a Historical and preserving the physiognomy of the ancient Berber people. Its architecture is typical of the villages of the Alpujarra, steep streets and terraced houses with flat roofs slate and adapted to the rugged terrain profiles. As in all the Alpujarra highlight the colorful geraniums and chimneys of houses, cylindrical topped with a kind of hat. Pampaneira is 1058 meters above sea level. Their sources also deserve mention, especially San Antonio, better known as Chumpaneira with matchmakers powers. As you can read in the mural placed on the pipes of this source, "is such that single drinking with intent to marry does not fail, it instantly girlfriend has, as you see". The Church of the Holy Cross Pampaneira is in the center of town, in Freedom Square. Stands out because it keeps its exterior walls without lime, a fact that provides an ocher color. It was built in 1730. Also worth visiting Cerrillo street where the source of the same name, and a rectangular Arab sinks with 10 batteries.

Pampaneira is a beautiful town locate...

Pampaneira is a beautiful town located in the Granada Alpujarra Poqueira ravine. It is located 1058 m from sea level, 72 km from Granada city, from here we have to take the motorway A 44, direction Lanjarón then go to Orgiva, to take the road that leads to Pampaneira. Declared a Historical alongside Bubión Capileira and has been first Beautification Award and twice Peoples National Tourism Award. It's best to leave your car in the public parking at the entrance of the village and wander through the streets, enjoying the architecture of the streets and houses that have kept their look of the Islamic era and its beautiful views of the Alpujarra . It is a place to eat or to buy some of their handicrafts shops. And for singles not forget to take some water from the source of San Antonio and read the legend of the fountain (see photo).

In the poqueira gorge.

It is the first town accessed by the Poqueira Gorge before boarding Bubión and Capileira after. Highlights include the style of its buildings, the whiteness of their houses, cleaning its streets, "terraos" and classics "tinaos". It seems that, given its situation, this village has not been able to expand as they have Bubión and Capileira.

A people for a ride

This village in the Alpujarras Granada is located in the Poqueira ravine, near Orgiva. It is a very small town that is appreciated by a walk and enjoy the views. In summer and Easter is fully collapsed car park and it is difficult even to turn around.

Flowered balconies in the sierra nevada

And now we come to Pampaneira, the largest of the villages de las Alpujarras granadinas of which I have spoken ... and probably the village with balconies brighter (oh those wonderful flowers) and geographically located further down the valley. Very interesting, in my humble opinion, is that from here and there comes a path that connects Pampaneira Bubion and Capileria (hamlets higher) easy to walk along and excellent opportunity to have time to admire the entire valley. Spectacular!

Spettacolare!!

Galicia? noooo, granada !!

Galicia? Noooo, Granada! Even if sound Galician, Pampaneira is one of the most beautiful villages of the Alpujarras, a village of white houses perched on the hillside above the rear mountains PN De Sierra Nevada. With cobbled streets, plazas and play areas is an ideal place to get away and spend a few days in the Alpujarra and tour the whole place!

Galicia? noooo, granada!!
