Parish Church of the Virgin of the Carmen of Caleta of Vélez

In Caleta de Velez, in the municipality of Velez-Malaga, is where the small fishing Parish of the Virgen del Carmen lies. It's next to the road through the village (the 340), near the sea, and is a newly constructed building. Now, in the 20th century, every August 16th on the Feast of Our Lady of Carmen, there's a procession that's carried out by the Guild of Fishermen who take the image of the Virgin to the beach, raising it onto a boat and taking it on a tour of the sea, and fishing port, among dozens of fishing boats, followed by the townspeople and visitors.
