Stylish guesthouse
We stopped at the Cetate Pension, in the village of Arefu, before starting the climb up the road towards the Transfagarasan Mountains and Balea Lake. This stylish guest house is equipped with all the comfort you need, and the rooms are simple. Most rooms have a TV and a private bathroom, though some do have a shared bathroom. There is no internet access. The restaurant is downstairs, and it is open to local Romanians. It is a clean, and well located hotel for exploring the Fagaras Mountains region. Here you can see how the traffic is as the mountain road begins, and if it is closed up, which occurs several months a year, and on special occasions in summer.
