Off the tourist trail

Although not far from usual tourist areas (Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, Jardin des Plantes), this is a small square boxed in my high buildings which makes it invisible to most outsiders. It’s a square complete with fenced gardens, shady trees, bubbling fountains, and sandy walkways.

It's a place where many Parisians spend their weekend afternoons. In fact, it's best to avoid coming in the afternoons in summer if you're looking for peace and quiet and to have more than 2 square meters to yourself. The garden is surrounded by some of the most expensive homes in the area. Having an apartment overlooking the square is a luxury very few can permit. Much of the area's charm, apart from the stunning architecture, comes from the fact that many important historical figures resided there. Victor Hugo’s house, for example, is on the corner. Today, it’s a museum but the interior has been preserved in the same state as when the author was alive.

The shops on the ground floor of the buildings are devoted to art, up-and-coming (but no less expensive) clothing designers, handicrafts, and musical instruments. There are also plenty of small Parisian-style bars and restaurants, all slightly bohemian and with a casual, leisurely attitude that's hard to find in the center or around Défense. They make for perfect places to sit at a small round table and enjoy a snack with a beer or glass of wine. Again, it's not cheap. In addition to "French" food, it's easy to find kosher restaurants (this being basically the center of the Jewish Quarter) as well as other ethnic restaurants.

Perfectly symmetrical

Located in the heart of the Marais district, is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Its uniqueness is in its perfect symmetry, 9 houses on each side, totaling 36. Throughout its 400-year history it has witnessed many historical events such as tournaments for the betrothal celebration of King Louis XIII to Anne of Austria, and famous characters like Victor Hugo have been housed here. An English garden is located in the center of the square, where there are multiple fountains, there was no sun on the day we visited despite it being August, but you know in Paris one day if it rains and perhaps another. Also, this may be the best kept secret of the Parisians, so we had to shelter from the rain under the spouts where several antique shops, bookstores and numismatic shops. Worth visiting, if only for the perfect symmetry of space, and the beautiful facades of stone and red brick.

One of the prettiest places on earth

Without fear of exaggerating, I can say that this is one of the prettiest places on Earth,at least from what I’ve seen. The Place des Vosges is the oldest square in Paris (built in 1612) and its location in the heart of Le Marais has made it a symbol of the neighborhood’s recent boom.

The square is synonymous with bookish students relaxing on the grass, young people playing guitar, children playing, jazz musicians playing on the street, and sunshine. It’s surrounded by aristocratic buildings with red brick facades and slate roofs. It’s a place to kick off your shoes, sprawl out on the grass, and watch the world pass by.

Beautiful gardens, cafes and art galleries

La Place des Vosges is one of the most beautiful parks I've seen in Europe. It's in the Les Marais de Paris neighbourhood, very close to La Bastille.

The gardens are perfectly manicured, with colorful fountains. It's surrounded by several cafes and exquisite art galleries where hours fly by without you realising it.

If you get lost in Paris, Place des Vosges is a great place to find yourself :)

Having emerged in the early seventeen...

Having emerged in the early seventeenth century at the beginning of the construction of the Place Royale, became over time the famous Place des Vosges as we know it today, with its remarkable buildings and its beautiful arcades the square Louis XIII was not completed in its final form at the end of the seventeenth, more precisely in 1682, during the reign of Louis XIII (hence its name). The central garden was closed at the time of imposing and remarkable metal railings and planted lime trees, giving the place a special charm especially in the spring. Also do not miss the equestrian statue.

The louis xiii square is located in t...

The Louis XIII Square is located in the heart of the Place des Vosges in the Marais district of Paris. It is the largest square in the 4th arrondissement. (12,706 m2).. So many people come to spend time ... The sun or not. See several fountains in the square made from drawings by Jean Appliances. And a statue in the likeness of Louis XII. Louis XII square is a really nice place to visit during your trip in Paris.

Place des Vosges is the most ancient square of Paris and is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. It is located in the Marais, one of the neighborhoods most fashionable and is home to the largest Jewish community in the city. On our visit, we were lucky to have a magnificent gives clear, something that is not very common in the month of February, and that no more haca that enhance the beauty of this hidden rincn of Paris. One of the things that attracts most attention is its perfect symmetry: 140 x 140 meters and bordered by 36 idnticos pavilions. A perfect place to unwind and relax in the heart of Paris instead.

One of the most beautiful squares in paris

Beautiful square which is located in the heart of the Marais district, is for me one of my favorite Parisian squares along the Place Dauphine. Perfectly symmetrical. At number 6 we lived Victor Hugo, his house can be visited today as the home of a museum about his life and in 2012 was the site of an exhibition dedicated to him. MI is understood to visit during a Saturday afternoon in August, and lho found very much alive: under its beautiful arcades there was a gang of Balkan music, benches and gardens were experienced by Parisians and not. I recommend that you stop on a bench and enjoy the Parisian atmosphere, rest and relax!

Place des vosges is located in paris ...

Place des Vosges is located in Paris and is part of the 3rd and 4th districts. It is located in the historic Marais district. It should be noted that this is the oldest square in Paris. It is lined with red brick buildings that are striking in their beauty. Here you can see a very nice fountain. This place is beautiful so it is no coincidence that attracts many tourists throughout the year. It is a perfect place to stroll with friends or family. I invite you to discover this great site.

Place royale

Place des Vosges and Place Royale was designed by Henry IV, but the work was not completed until 1612, two years after the death of the "Good King". So Louis XIII inaugurated the Royal Place on the occasion of his engagement to Anne of Austria. That is why the center of the square is named after Louis XIII. The Louis XIII square accepts rows of trees, with the center, four fountains lions head. The current statue of Louis XIII in 1825 as a first statue was destroyed in 1639 during the Revolution.

Place royale

Place des vosges in the marais. it is...

Place des Vosges in the Marais. It is a place (almost) square. I love to go for a picnic, the atmosphere is always very calm and quiet. The mix of red stones of buildings, roofs of slate blue and green trees emphasizes the very Parisian atmosphere of the place. Moreover, all the buildings instead of goshawks are part of the "backup plan and development of the Marsh" and thus can not change the facade without prior authorization. Everything is in place to preserve the beauty of the Place des Vosges.

Place des Vosges, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful squares. It is also listed building since 1954. I especially appreciate its rectangular shape and soothing for many art and pubs surrounding the arcades galleries. It is a crowded some place or time for tourists and Parisians strolling and admiring the hotels belonging to Cardinal Richelieu, and several advisors to the King.

Place des Vosges, formerly Place Royale, is located in the Marais district of Paris. Can people know, but it is the oldest square in Paris (after the Place Dauphine). The park in the center of the square is surrounded by red brick buildings that give a special charm to the place, also one of the houses was the flag of the king (which, however, was never inhabited by the latter). You can walk in the arcades, and relax in the heart of the park, where many students meet during their lunch breaks. A small island of calm in the center of paris.

A row of pink bricks

Admirable and very old Parisian place with gorgeous red brick arches. I love these galleries that house chic restaurants and luxury shops and where music is often part. Many hotels, multiple stories overcome this square up in the center of which is a small park, very pleasant. This is Place des Vosges, Victor Hugo and Théophile Gauthier had an address (the Victor Hugo Museum is still there) and Jim Morrison are writing some poems.
