Ideal for families and children

Porto Pino is located in the Sulcis Iglesiente on the south-west coast of Sardinia. The 4-kilometer beach is divided in half by the ruins of an old pier. Luckily, Porto Pino caters to all tastes: the so-called "first beach" is an area that is primarily chosen by families, while teenagers camp out near the pier, usually on their first beach trip without their parents. The area that extends beyond the pier, the so-called "second beach", attracts an older crowd of mainland tourists fascinated by the famous dunes and tropical landscape. About 15 or 20 years ago, the second beach was open to camping and pretty much became a nudist colony.

Like a Caribbean island

Excellent

Glorious sunsets, white sand, crystal-clear water, and a pier that seems like it was designed to go with the landscape: we're not in the Caribbean, we're in Italy! In Porto Pino, to be exact! On the long road from Sant'Anna Arresi that leads to the sea, you'll come across a fork in the road. Turn right and enter the pine forest and you'll arrive at Porto Pinetto (you can't miss this slice of the real Mediterranean) and then keep left and pass by the artificial ponds until you arrive at the parking lot and the famous white sands. When you first get out of the car, it'll feel like you're on some Caribbean island.
